The Orissa government has been released a new scheme named as Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana. This scheme is launched on 7th august 2016 and launched by Mr. Naveen Patnaik. This day is also declaring National Handloom Day. Bunker means weavers. Orissa state is very famous for the handlooms industries. There are more than 8000 weaver who spend their lives by earning through handcrafts or weaving and these people give their more than 20 years in the same field. Hence this scheme is mainly for these people. There are many schemes which is started by Orissa government to increase handloom industries. This is the latest scheme which is different from other schemes. Under this scheme the state government of Orissa will provide monthly pension to elderly weavers.

Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana is the latest scheme which is started by the Orissa government. This scheme main motive is to provide financial assistance to those people who give their whole life to the handloom crafts profession. Under this scheme pension will be given to those people whose age is more than 60 and still engage in handcrafts. This scheme annual budget is 5 crores which is huge burden on Orissa government. But still they are agreed it to paid every year by seeing efforts of elderly people of Orissa. This scheme is not only provide financial help to the elderly Orissa people but also promote handloom business and reached it to the international level.
Eligibility criteria to get pension under Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana:
There are mainly two criterions which contenders should follow to get the pension under this scheme these are. Those weavers whose age is 60 years or more than 60 years are eligible for this pension scheme. Candidates must have 20 years service duration in the handloom industries.
Pension amount under Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana:
That weaver whose age is 60 years or more than 60 years and fulfill above service duration criterion will get 500 rupees monthly. And that weaver whose age is more than 80 years and fulfill above service duration criterion will get 700 rupees monthly.
